RECIPES FOR PEARS

CINAMMON APPLE PEARS

750g Organic Pears
500ml Organic Apple Juice
1-2 Cinammon Sticks
Organic Dairy House Jersey Cream/Crème Fraiche to serve

Heat the Oven to 180C


Peel, core and slice the pears and use them to line the bottom of a baking dish, choose a size the pears fit snugly into and maybe overlap a little.

Cover the pear slices with apple juice and put 1-2 pieces of cinnamon stick into the juice.

Cook in the centre of the oven for 25 mins or until the pears are soft.

Serve hot with cream or crème fraiche. Very moreish and you even feel you are eating healthily (with perhaps the exception of the cream!)

NUTTY PEAR AND LEMON CRUMBLE

2 Organic Lemons, juice and zest
900g Organic Pears, peeled, cored and chopped
3 Tbsp Honey or Demerar Sugar
1 Tsp powdered Ginger
150g Organic Butter/Vegan Margarine, melted
175g Wholewheat flour or pinhead oatmeal
50g Demerara Sugar
Pinch of Sea Salt
3oz nibbed Organic Hazelnuts

Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mark 6

Prepare the Pears and coat with lemon juice, zest, honey and ginger. Place in an ovenproof dish.

Mix the melted butter with the flour to form breadcrumbs. Mix in the sugar, salt and hazelnuts.
Pour the crumble mix over the pears. Bake for 50 mins or until slightly browned on top and serve with vanilla ice cream.
